We want to draw your attention to an essential aspect of neighborhood safety—our storm drains. Proper storm drain maintenance is crucial to prevent damage and clogs. Here's what you need to know and how you can help:
Why it Matters:
1. Flood Prevention: Clogged or damaged storm drains can lead to flooding during heavy rainfall. This flooding can damage homes, vehicles, and property. By keeping drains clear, we reduce the risk of flood-related incidents.
2. Environmental Impact: Debris, trash, and pollutants can accumulate in clogged drains, leading to contamination of our local waterways. This pollution harms aquatic life and negatively affects our environment.
3. Road Safety: Standing water around storm drains can create hazardous conditions for pedestrians and drivers. Properly maintained storm drains help ensure the safety of all community members.
What You Can Do:
1. Stay Informed: Pay attention to weather forecasts, especially during rainy seasons. Be prepared for heavy rain events and take precautions.
2. Clear Your Property: Ensure that your property is free from debris and clutter that could end up in the storm drains during storms. Secure outdoor items that might be swept away by rain.
3. No Dumping: Never dump anything down a storm drain, including trash, leaves, or chemicals. Dispose of waste materials responsibly.
3. Report Issues: If you notice damaged or clogged storm drains in your neighborhood, please report them to us immediately at [EMERGENCY CONTACT NUMBER]. Do not attempt to clear them yourself, as it can be dangerous.
4. Community Involvement: Join or support community clean-up efforts to remove litter and debris from the streets before they reach the storm drains.
By following these simple guidelines, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our neighborhood. Let's work together to maintain clear, functioning storm drains, and protect our community from potential harm.

Recycling isn't just eco-friendly, it's a way to protect our planet for future generations. 🌎 Let's dive into what can be recycled in our community, so we can all do our part.
What Can Be Recycled:
📰 Paper Products: Newspapers, magazines, office paper, cardboard, and paperboard (like cereal boxes) are recyclable. Make sure they're clean and dry.
📦 Cardboard: Flatten cardboard boxes before recycling. Remove any packaging materials like Styrofoam or plastic wrap.
🍾 Glass Containers: Empty glass bottles and jars can be recycled—just rinse them first.
♻️ Plastic Containers: Look for recycling symbols (usually numbers 1 through 7) on plastic containers, including beverage bottles, food containers, and detergent bottles. Rinse them out before recycling.
🥫 Metal Cans: Aluminum and steel cans, such as soda cans and food cans, can be recycled. Give them a rinse to remove any residue.
🥛 Cartons: Items like milk and juice cartons are often recyclable. Double-check your local guidelines.
What Can't Be Recycled:
🛍️ Plastic Bags: Plastic bags can't go in the recycling bin. Find designated drop-off locations for proper recycling.
🍱 Styrofoam: Styrofoam isn't usually accepted in curbside programs. Look for special drop-off locations if available.
🚫 Non-Recyclable Plastics: Items like plastic utensils, straws, and single-use plastic containers might not be accepted. Keep them out of your recycling bin.
☢️ Hazardous Materials: Batteries, electronics, and hazardous waste items should never go in your recycling bin. Follow proper disposal guidelines for these items.
Let's recycle the right way to make a positive impact on our community and the environment.🌱 Thank you for your commitment to a greener future. If you have questions or need more info, contact [CONTACT INFORMATION].
