What is Neighbors?
Neighbors is a free app designed to help residents connect with their communities and stay informed about what’s going on around them – whether they own a Ring device or not. We created Neighbors as a place for residents to share important local crime and safety information, and receive updates from official sources such as their local public safety agency. We believe when communities work together, safer neighborhoods can become a reality.
Local government agencies can interact with residents on Neighbors using a tool called Neighbors Public Safety Service.
What is Neighbors Public Safety Service?
Neighbors Public Safety Service (NPSS) is the interface that allows local government officials to connect, communicate and share hyper-local updates with their communities. With NPSS, local government users can see and comment on publicly posted content from the Neighbors App feed and share real-time posts. Local government agencies will not have access to request videos with the “Request for Assistance” post.
How will local government agencies use Neighbors Public Safety Service?
Local government users can view and comment on Neighbors App posts within their jurisdiction to connect with and help members of the community stay informed. They can also create posts to provide communities with city/county/town information and other valuable community information, as well as invite community members to safety events.
